Hey, I’m Jess.

I’m a fiction writer (and ENFJ) currently querying my cozy mystery Grace & Jo Have Never Solved a Murder.

My writing journey started around 1994 when my parents gave me my first blank notebook. Even then, my stories often included a mysterious death, so it should be no surprise that my debut novel would be a mystery.

I have a degree in journalism with a minor in English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I spent the first few years of my career in various marketing and copywriting roles, always helping small businesses promote their brands online. In 2016, I published a children’s book about OCD and anxiety, a book I wished I had when I was younger. When I had my son in 2017, I found how unfriendly the marketing world can be to parents and families and chose to become a stay-at-home mom. I’ve kept up my writing skills by doing freelance work whenever it pops up and practiced my small business skills by reselling thrifted clothing online.

I now live in the Pittsburgh suburbs with my husband, our two children, and our corgi, Clementine. After rediscovering my love of reading in 2024, I was inspired to write Grace & Jo. When I’m not reading, writing, or momming, you can find me playing The Sims 4 or thrifting. I’m a card-carrying member of the late ADHD diagnosis club. DMX once paid my cover at a bar, but that’s more of a face-to-face story.
